This article is a cultural reflection on Indigenous food sovereignty in Canada, inspired by a gathering at the Native Canadian Centre and a journey through voices, ancestral ingredients, and community practices.
Through stories, books, and shared meals, it explores food as memory, care, and resistance — and as a way to rethink our relationship with land, nourishment, and belonging.
Written in Italian for Rolling Stone Italia, the piece aims to carry these reflections beyond Canada, opening a dialogue with audiences for whom Indigenous food cultures are still largely unknown.
